The Striker - Ana Huang

(Have you read who wrote it? Thought so) It's a long one. Guys, I don’t even like football but now I need to marry a footballer. Thanks a lot Ana….and Asher. Scarlett, how does it feel to live my dreams? My love for the sport and its player both starts and ends with Cristiano Ronaldo. Okay in my defence – ha the pun – I may have read it just because it was written by my most loved author and not because of the storyline. I didn’t even really pay attention to the book or pre-order it until I saw all the people who got blessed with ARCs’s flaunting their opinions before mine. Anyways, it was written by Ana herself so of course it was on my TBR. As a fellow born and raised Brit, I can say that I’m not the biggest fan of football other than the World Cup. Aimless, no profitable bets based on which team will win based on the colours. I'm a girl - sue me. I believe the last time I was interested was when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United again after years. Promise Me N...

Promise Me Not - Meagan Brandy

(To emotional to talk about ratings at the minute) If there was a rollercoaster inspired by raw, heart-breaking, life-altering emotions, then this would be it. Honestly, I want to give you some elaborate story about how I wandered into my local book store and just stumbled across this read. If by stumble you mean reading 5 lines out of the whole book on TikTok, and reading the book that same day means stumbled, then fine. I spontaneously just found the book. TikTok had been disappointing me so much lately but I’m glad to report back that the platform has redeemed itself. In my life, I’ve probably read 2 books in my life first on my kindle and then as a paperback. Those rare times were simply because I couldn’t wait for Waterstones to open. I’m glad to announce that this is the 3 rd time. The first was The King of Wrath by Ana Huang and the second was Wild Eyes by Elsie Silver. We are talking about the big leagues here. I haven’t read the first instalment in this series call...

The Deception Trilogy - Rina Kent

(3/5 Rina Kent but Adrian and Lia get 5/5) Love Rina Kent but this was not for me. I read it out of curiosity and I’m still unsure on whether or not I regret it. Before I start stressing over everything, let me briefly introduce you to this world of Rina Kent. I read this after finishing The Monster trilogy because I was blown away by it. Little did I know that it was written after The Deception trilogy. Clearly. I could tell just from the first line. We have Adrian Volkov who was been all over my BookTok and Instagram feed. Snippets here and there about him and Lia, so imagine how I had to double check I was reading the write book when the first page started with the perspective of Winter. Who the hell is Winter? I’ll tell you. Adrian Volkov is part of the Bratva and Lia is a ballerina. She witnessed something that was caused by Adrian and in turn he had to either get her to shup up or kill her. I’m sure you can predict where this is going. Mentally Lia wasn’t great, espec...

The Monster Trilogy - Rina Kent

(Guess the rating?) It’s been a long time coming. I read 2 pages from Blood of My Monster and put it down. Then after reading the whole RES series by Rina Kent, I revisited it and I ask myself the same question every time. Why on earth do I take so long to read the most hyped books? I want to be Sasha. I want to be Solnyshko. I read the Deception Trilogy after the Monster trilogy and the difference in the writing, flow, plot and editing was so distinct. The editor in me was having a meltdown, the reader in me got frustrated and the blogger in me was just so thrilled to rip it all apart. We have three installments. Blood of My Monster, Lies of My Monster and Heart of My Monster.  It’s based around family revenge, false accusations and of course the one thing that messes up everything; miscommunication. Heartbreak and love are inevitable in every book especially that one of Rina Kent. I always had a thing for the Italian and some what of a loose interest in the Russian ever since...

Daydream - Hannah Grace

(Puh-lease a book with Henry Turner is always 5 stars) They just get better every time. I’m so sorry Icebreaker. I promised I would never betray you but as soon as I was introduced to Henry, I just knew that wasn’t the case. Fun while it lasted though. Just like Stassie's relationship with Ryan. Short and sweet. I was one of the hundreds of people who was literally protesting for Henry’s book to drop. I didn’t know the story, hadn’t met his love interest in previous books or knew anymore than the snippets we got but it was enough to pique my interest. Wildfire was a good diversion however nothing can divert you away from Henry MF Turner. In short, I have never pre-ordered a book so quickly in my life. Let’s get into it. We have Henry Turner, who we always knew was different than Nate Hawkins. Then we have Halle. Sweet, loving, caring, book obsessed and over-worked Halle. She has the charms of a Disney princess even if she does dress like Miss Honey from Matilda. Who doesn...
