About Paper Pages

What makes a story unforgettable? Is it the plot, the characters, or the tiny details that linger long after you’ve closed the book? I ask these questions every day as I navigate my journey from law graduate to publishing professional, with a focus on publicity and subrights.

Sometimes self-doubt creeps in, and I wonder, what makes me think I can help authors bring their stories to the world? But instead of wondering “what if,” I’m rolling up my sleeves and diving in.

Eventually, I hope to continue my publishing journey internationally, maybe Canada, France, or wherever the right opportunity arises.

My law degree hasn’t gone to waste. Studying international law, proofreading journals, and writing extensively have all proven surprisingly useful in the publishing world. Tasks that once seemed tedious now feel like second nature, and I am grateful for that.

Why do I love books so much? Most people say it’s “to escape reality,” but for me, it’s about hope. There are characters and worlds that resonate, comfort and inspire, and that is what keeps me turning pages. And why publishing? Because I love the intricate dance between authors, books, and the publishing industry. Plus, the first time I read a poorly executed rom-com, I couldn’t help but dissect it, sticky notes and all, imagining how it could be transformed from good to great. That spark is still with me today.

Here on Paper Pages, you’ll find my reviews — from slow-burn vanilla reads to gripping dark romances. My style is talkative yet informative, and you won’t find me simply reciting blurbs. I want you to experience the story with me.

P.S. I do not read non-fiction, and if I did, it would probably be out of compulsion rather than entertainment. As a book devotee, I’m inquisitive — unless it comes to facts. That’s when I, respectfully, sign out.

Twisted Lies - Ana Huang

(The MMC is called Christian, you tell me the rating) Christian Harper and Stella Alonso aka butterfly. This had that thriller element to it which I so needed. A story featuring stalkers, thriller, betrayal, and love. Spice too, if you’re interested… We have a billionaire tech-genius with an aspiring designer and fashion blogger. It doesn’t get much more gold than that. Remember Harper Security? Well, there’s a whole book on it now. Stella works for a fashion magazine and gets fired from it after attending an event. That event was for Delamonte, whose brand she becomes the face of. Christian Harper owns the apartment complex where Stella and Jules live. In Twisted Hate we see how they basically get it for free because the rent isn’t even rent, especially for a place like that. The only reason he drops it is for Stella, and we find out why later. Well, once Jules leaves to live with Josh, he lets Stella stay at reduced rent on the condition that she waters his plants. This ...

Bad Little Bride – Meagan Brandy

(5/5 stars. The MMC is called Enzo. Exactly) You know, I’ve read about a couple of men called Enzo throughout my time, but none has hit the spot just like Enzo Fikile. Oh. My. God. Meagan didn’t enter 2025 to joke around. She came to serve, and serve she did. This is book number 2 in the Girls of Greyson series. The one prior is Tempting Little Thief , starring Bastian Bishop and Rocklin Revenaw, aka Boston Revenaw’s twin sister, AKA Enzo’s wife! Did we forget about Enzo? We can never do such a crime. Now, we don’t lie on this page, and I’m not going to start today. Unless my poor eyesight read something wrong – highly likely – I was under the misconception that this was a fantasy book. I don’t read stories set in fantasy worlds where wings, fangs, and, most importantly, weird bodily fluids other than blood and something else are explored. I opened this book with one eye, and that eye stayed closed until chapter 2. Then I was all in on Enzo and Boston’s glory. The story st...

King of Envy - Ana Huang

(Who wrote it? Thank you. This book rates itself) First and foremost I know it's been a while since I've been on here but there was a great reason for that. One I'm not ready to share not now however I will eventually. So when I say this is the hardest Ana Huang book I’ve waited for, I really mean it. The days were going so, so slow and I just couldn’t wait to get it in my hands. Normally, whenever I pre-order, I get the “click and collect” notification 1–2 days before, but Ana caught on—and I’m guessing someone got told off. Awkward. I went onto the Waterstones website, searched the book, saw that the in-store collection option was available, so my detective skills told me it was already there even though I didn’t get the text. I rang them, they saved me one from the delivery—and here we are. Call me obsessed, but I say consistent. Wow. Vuk and Ayana. First of all, Vuk was definitely morally grey, but he had this sunshine side to him. Shadow? I’m dead. That cat was...
