Let's talk Intentions.

Another heart to heart my little book worms. Today’s topic? Intentions. Before I get into this though, I’m considering during a weekly or bi-weekly post which is deviated way from books and more on life. Let me know if that’s something you all would like to see! On to today’s ‘segment’ as I like to call it, let’s discuss intentions. Mine, yours, your neighbours and just how it can affect your life. I’ve been home for quite a while now living in a joint family which consists of mother, father, brother, SIL and child. I’m not going to add my sister to this list only because sissy is moving out in a couple of months after getting married. As we all know, Vivian is struggling to get a job in publishing but I’ve been applying for bucket full both in the UK but more predominantly in the US. Attention to detail is both a blessing and a curse. Blessing because it’s one skill that anyone in publishing needs to own. Yes, it comes with experience but I also think it’s just a life skill ...

Things We Left Behind - Lucy Score

(The MMC was dubbed 'Suit Daddy' you tell me what rating I gave it?) Lucian Rollins dubbed ‘Suit Daddy’ - thanks to Lina - is literally a walking, talking wet dream. What a perfect end to the series. Let’s get into the steamy history of Mr. Lucian Rollins and Miss Sloane Walton. Break down of the plot. Sloane and Lucian both grew up next door to each other but where Sloane came form the daughter of a lawyer, Lucian come from an abusive household. Lucian’s dad was abusive to both mother and son which Sloane knew about because he confided in her. Lucian was the Walton’s unofficial son and also the protégé of said lawyer. It was heart-warming to see. After the passing of her father, Sloane is now on a quest to help release the mother of her father’s protégé which means more time spent between Suit Daddy and the perky librarian. Throughout this, we discover that Lucian helped the Walton’s in more ways than Sloane could ever anticipate. He helped them spend one last Christma...

Things We Hide from The Light - Lucy Score

(You tell me. How many stars did I give this book? I'll give you a hint. Five) Apprehensive. That’s the word we’re settling with. I felt so very apprehensive going into book #2 because Lina wasn’t speaking volumes to me. But then I read it and I should have known to never doubt Lucy Score again in my life. So, we saw speckles of Lina towards the end of Things We Never Got Over . She may or may not have kissed Knox bang on the lips during the break-up act between Knox and his Daisy. Lina also made an entrance when Naomi was saved from the abduction by following Nash’s car with Sloane. Let’s just say Lucian Rollins was not a happy, rich man in that moment. Angelina (Linda) Solavita works in insurance. That’s what she tells everyone but she actually finds clients their highly insured items. IF you read the first instalment, you’ll know who Duncan Hugo is and why everyone wants to find him. He wrote a damn list with high executive’s names on them – Nash included hence why he was ...

Things We Never Got Over – Lucy Score

(If you aren't giving this a 5 stars - respectfully - leave. Jokes but seriously. It's a 11/10) Someone knock me out because why do I always take years to pick up hyped books? Why do I let one bad hyped-up book deter me from the ones that mean something? Now I’m confused. Do I want a Dante Russo or a Knox Morgan? First world problem. I know. Let’s talk about it. If a book is written well, then it can never be too long. Anyone who said these stories are just on the brink of reading 500 pages therefore making it badly need to back away from me. They should have been longer. Like 200 pages longer. I didn’t want it to end. I bought all 3, read all 3 and now I’m here to share my thoughts on all 3. I wish I picked up her these masterpieces sooner but I will say one thing. Reading it after the hype rather than presently in the hype just makes me less biased alongside not making me wait for the next release in the series. I’m currently going through the book pain with Ana Hua...

Heart Bones - Colleen Hoover

(4.5 Stars) Who said heart did not have any bones? The good news is you do not have to have earned a PhD to know if hearts in fact do have bones but the bad news is that Colleen Hoover may have broken mine. For the second time. PSA don’t come for me. I said in my last blog about authors I won’t be reading from again that Colleen Hoover as booted of my If she writes it, I’m reading it list. However, I mentioned I was reading Heart Bones so here I am with the damage done to my heart yet once again. Case closed. I honestly think that Heart Bones is a hidden gem which needs to have more recognition and light put on it. ‘It Ends with U’s is a monumental read but because that's now being made into a movie - which couldn't come any...

Books I won’t be reading in 2024…….

Including those ones from my most loved authors plus some authors I just won’t read from again. Let’s call this post Ex’s and Oh’s part 2. The Long Game by Elena Armas. No. Nope. Don’t like the cover, don’t like the blurb and sure as hell don’t like soccer. I have read and will continue to read sport romances but soccer? Yeah no. [Side note: this does not and will not ever apply to Striker by Ana Huang. Nothing applies to Ana Huang books. Ever.] Hockey. Rugby. Basketball even I’m fine with. I’ve seen the reviews – through research here and I trust my gut. I know before giving it a chance that it won’t be make it to my top 20 let alone top anything else. I’ve read the blurb it just doesn’t sell to me. In all fairness, I’m still in New York, Manhattan with Aaron, Lina, Lucas and Roslyn so. Just don’t even want to speak about or have anything to do with Adalyn and Cameron. Also, the cover – immediately no. Sorry Elena – not this time. Still love you babe. I am going to pre-order...
