Who are your bookish crushes and what songs are they?

(Picture credits. Middle and top right; @zharasarts Instagram. Bottom right; @neural_art_v Instagram)

If the bookish community can agree on one thing, it’s that they set high ass expectations. So high, that I’ve fell in love with the same man just in different fonts every time I’ve read a book. Let’s break it down.

Now we’ve got two categories. The ones I want and the ones I just can’t stop thinking about. There’s a difference. If you’re a really bookish worm, you’ll figure it out.

First up, Fox Thornton. Okay. I’m sure everyone crushes on him, right? It’s the first rom-com I picked up after a long time so Tessa Bailey had all the rights in the world to make me crumble. A player who falls for his best friend but let’s others perception of him pull him back? Sign me up. I want to be a Hannah Bellinger. Although I also had the hots for Brendan Taggart, everyone likes it a little rough around the edges. Everything about that man was written with the most delicate yet firm details. From his looks, to the building of his personality from It Happened Once Summer, nothing beats a pending love interest like seeing snippets in the first book only to see it come full circle in the second. Tessa Bailey ate and left no crumbs. Chase Atlantic – Friends is the most perfect song for the whole book. Listen to it then we’ll discuss.

Aaron Blackford. My goodness me. I never understand why it takes me decades to pick up a hyped book. When I found out it was to be made into a movie? Stop. Someone combusted and it was not Aaron or Lina. I was begging for an office romance after reading this. Stoic, grump MMC’s never fail to hit the spot. I don’t care how many times I’ve read about grumpy men; I still want one. Wow. The lines he delivered, the insults he took from Lina just because he wanted to keep a connection is everything my fragile heart wants and more. No word of a lie, after reading The Spanish Love Deception, it made me want to move to New York more than ever. It’s always been a career goal to leave the UK and permanently reside in NY but this book just cemented that belief even more. I’ll bump into you soon Blackford. Parachute – Kiss Me Slowly. Listen to the ending. It explains Lina like a lover writes a sweet love note.

Okay next. Angelo and Rapheal Visconti. I’m not picking one. They’re both exactly what I want in a mafia man. With the right ratio of lover boy to made man, it sets my expectations so high that I tell myself ‘being delulu is the solulu’. Starting a war for love? Shut the front door. Or my front door…. Did I mention Angelo and Raphael were like 10+ years older than their girls? Melted. I melted before it anything steamy even started. I can’t get a man to pass me a tissue let alone unalive two men just for disrespecting purposes. The Visconti’s have me in a chokehold. Gabe’s story hasn’t even reached surface level yet but trust me when I say it will be the best. Finding a song for this was difficult but for some reason it’s giving Meek Mill – All Eyes on You vibes.

Right, right who else has been on my mind? Hmmm. Dante Russo. My goodness me I knew I always had a thing for the Italian and God did Ana Haung really make me lose my mind. Why does this post sound like I have a fetish for walking talking red flags? I don’t. Actually, when I mention the next one, you’re going to think otherwise. It’s not the rich billionaire mindset but it’s the grand gestures that got me. Tell me you can’t express your feelings without telling me you can’t express your feelings. Vivian (ahem my name) got this man booking out venues, breaking ex’s noses, on his literal knees all whilst saying ‘You’re my wife’ to his arranged wife. Dead. I’m dead. The song? I got you. Plaza – All Mine. Read that one scene and get back to me.

Ryle Kincaid. Hear me out. I liked Mr. Neurosurgeon, ‘the most capable hands in Boston’ Ryle Kincaid. I loved Mr. ‘I’m on my knees for you’ Kincaid. I salivated over the first half of the book Ryle until he did something like, I don’t know,  let’s say mistreat Lily Bloom but up until then? My man was perfection. Ever since the movie snippets have been all over my social media, I cannot stop picturing Ryle as Justin Baldoni whilst re-reading it which is both a good thing and bad thing. Good thing because hello are you blind? Bad thing because he’s married with kids but that’s okay. That’s fine. I’ll admire from a far. He wore a goddamn onesie in the book. Cheep and cheerful. Just how I like it. But then I started to love Atlas more because you know – actually just read the book. The song is so tricky for this because there are like 100 emotions throughout the book but initially, I was like Sickick – Infected. Trust me. It works.

I believe those are all my most wanted crushes. I have others that make an appearance in my mind from time to time like; Declan Kane, Callahan Kane, Jack Hawthorne and Kai Young. Fantastic book boyfriends but we’re comparing them to the best of the best here. Let’s not do anymore disrespect. Haven’t given the others much thought but Kia Young and Isabella Valencia? Yeah, no brainer. Shameless – Camilla Cabello, Puh-lease. Don’t @ me.

See what I mean? Same men but in different fonts. Let me know who your bookish boyfriends are. I need to do a post on who my favourite bookish girls are but it’s going to be a lengthy one guys – I’m going to relate to a lot of them which sadly I do a lot. I’m off to binge on some more behind the scenes of a movie I’ve gone on about way to long – like 3 posts to long.

Sue me.

Until next time, consider Vivian out like a light because tomorrow is rest today before my usual hobby of reading some tattered, coffee stained, paper pages whilst job hunting. Pray for me.

Mwah.

Vivian.

Don’t forget to keep reading, because as long as you do, it’s making a struggling authors day that much better. Reach for the starts of success.

Bad Little Bride – Meagan Brandy

(5/5 stars. The MMC is called Enzo. Exactly) You know, I’ve read about a couple of men called Enzo throughout my time, but none has hit the spot just like Enzo Fikile. Oh. My. God. Meagan didn’t enter 2025 to joke around. She came to serve, and serve she did. This is book number 2 in the Girls of Greyson series. The one prior is Tempting Little Thief , starring Bastian Bishop and Rocklin Revenaw, aka Boston Revenaw’s twin sister, AKA Enzo’s wife! Did we forget about Enzo? We can never do such a crime. Now, we don’t lie on this page, and I’m not going to start today. Unless my poor eyesight read something wrong – highly likely – I was under the misconception that this was a fantasy book. I don’t read stories set in fantasy worlds where wings, fangs, and, most importantly, weird bodily fluids other than blood and something else are explored. I opened this book with one eye, and that eye stayed closed until chapter 2. Then I was all in on Enzo and Boston’s glory. The story st...

God of War - Rina Kent

(A full 5/5 with no spaces in between) Dark romance authors - please take notes because this is how it's done. At this point, I think there is something morally grey with me because why on earth do I find all red flags on a man green and attractive? Well then Mr. Eli King. You certainly put me into my place. Confession time – this is not my first experience with Rina Kent. I actually purchased the Deception Trilogy. I decided not to read them for a very stupid reason. The number of pages. There were like only scraping 200 and I am not about the short book life. Unless it’s bad – then please be my guest. The less you write, the less I have to suffer. However, now I’m thinking on going back to read it because God of War was that good. I’ve also purchased Blood of My Monster but I won’t be revisiting that. The whole concept is just to long for my liking. These are the time I enjoy Book-Tok. This is from the Legacy of Gods series landing on #6. There are also times– rare ones –...

Twisted Lies - Ana Huang

(The MMC is called Christian, you tell me the rating) Christian Harper and Stella Alonso aka butterfly. This had that thriller element to it which I so needed. A story featuring stalkers, thriller, betrayal, and love. Spice too, if you’re interested… We have a billionaire tech-genius with an aspiring designer and fashion blogger. It doesn’t get much more gold than that. Remember Harper Security? Well, there’s a whole book on it now. Stella works for a fashion magazine and gets fired from it after attending an event. That event was for Delamonte, whose brand she becomes the face of. Christian Harper owns the apartment complex where Stella and Jules live. In Twisted Hate we see how they basically get it for free because the rent isn’t even rent, especially for a place like that. The only reason he drops it is for Stella, and we find out why later. Well, once Jules leaves to live with Josh, he lets Stella stay at reduced rent on the condition that she waters his plants. This ...
