This
review is long overdue but I was just re-reading it like, oh 20 times! I've seen
some mixed reviews about these books and honestly, I don't know why. It's
nothing but swoon-worthy.
If
you've read any of the books from the Twisted Series then you know Mr
Alex Volkov was the king of grovelling and Ava Chen made sure to make it him do
it right (Twisted Love). If you know you know 💙. When I saw
people comparing Dom's grovelling to that it seemed a bit rash because well the
tropes are completely different and so are the characters. In my opinion, it
was done right considering the history they had which Alex and Ava lacked when
it came to that scene.
I
admired how Alessandra built herself whilst fixing her marriage and it was hilarious how
Dom was blonde before Dante and Kai put him in his place and boy did he
finally get his tiger stripes at the end. I remember reading about the start of
Alessandra’s small business because of course she got help from the purple
headed Isabella Valencia. Ever since, I had been so curious about how it would
take of mixed in with a bit of anger towards Dominic Davenport who didn’t help
her. Like hello? Didn’t you start a business to from rubble? See. Dominic aka
Legally Blonde.
The
spice was there. The connection was there but dammit the only thing this book
failed to do was emphasise more on Alessandra being a bad ass you know what. It
could have been explored more however I still can't complain. If it bothered me
that much, I wouldn’t be reading it multiple times again. The side story
of Dante and Vivian was chefs kiss whilst the tension between the King of Sloth
characters had me on gasping for air. Xavier is going to be that character. April couldn’t come any sooner.
I
was on the edge of my little book bean bag waiting for Christian Harper to
enter the chat. It’s become an unsaid rule that he has to make at least one
appearance – no matter how long or short – in the King of Sins book
series. He was there profoundly in King of Wrath, sparsely in King of
Pride, so seeing Dom change his security company by upgrading to none other
than Harper Security was a full circle feeling.
Now,
I don’t know why Jules Ambrose was not the divorce lawyer representing
Alessandra, but she should have been. I wanted more of Jessica Rabbit and Josh
Chen. It was a nice snippet of them but I’ll forever be wondering how the
conversation could have taken a turn had the King of Greed stars
actually went to get drinks. Alas, it is what it is.
All
In all, its a comfort read and I loved it but Kai and Isabella still stole my
heart. I have a feeling the new couple are going to take number 1 though. A
grumpy girl x a sunshine boy? A publicity and a billionaire who doesn’t want to
carry on the family line? Sign me the hell up.
I’m
loving the King of Series by Ana Huang as much as I did the Twisted
Series. Excited to see the second blonde from all that Ana has written. I
can feel it in my bones – this is going to be a good one.
Have
you read King of Greed? Did you like it? Also has anyone read the bonus scene?
I literary read it, died, came back to life stitched up my pathetic romantic
little heart, read it and died again.
Until
my next book review, don’t forget to do what I always tell you to but also drop
some book recommendations.
Vivian.
Don’t forget to keep reading, because as long as you
do, it’s making a struggling authors day that much better. Reach for the starts
of success.
